This happens with a lot of igs and I'm not sure what causes it, but I think lack of enough calcium could be one contributing factor. Has he been to a vet lately? How much do you know of his history? I don't wanna minimize concern over a bent toe, but if that's his worst problem, he is very lucky (as are you :-)
