He didn't really put him on a special diet, just said start out w/baby food. I spent Sunday and Monday hydrating him and tonight was a first try at food. Of the 2 choices of baby food at the corner store, I thought the pear/pineapple would have provided a *little* better nutrition, but I went w/the banana/apple thinking he'd like that taste better and it gave a better chance of eating *something*. He ate about a third of the jar and is now back under the lights. I'm gonna try him w/a little more before I settle him in for the night.

I couldn't get any yogart around here, so I will pick some up tomorrow, and go w/MK's recommendation of using that to help rebuild the bacteria needed in the gut. I'm hoping maybe by the weekend we can start on some *real* food. He surely seems willing to eat, and I'm elated w/that.

To see him, as bad as he looks, I wonder if I didn't over-react upon first sight - he's looking so much better (considering) so quickly. But I was just so worried at first that he had failing organs, because, well I am not a vet :-) and I'd never seen "in person" such a sick looking ig. He definitely resembled some of those extremely sad looking ones I've seen on the Net who've also endured horrors. And if I did over-react, it's better than under-reacting, or not reacting at all :-)
