I have read everywhere that iguanas should have their food in byte-size portions, so that's how I served it. I tried feeding him small portions of the food by hand, but he didn't react. But your tip about dangling a large green leaf in front of him worked. He ate three leafs of collard green. It's not much, but it's a start!

As for temperatures, I am sure it is hot enough for him, but not too hot. Right now he has a whole room for himself, and I put the heating lamp in the walk-in closet. If he wants to get out, he can roam around wherever he wishes. I guess the ambient temperature in the apartment is around 80 degrees -- we like to keep it warm. I'm probably more sensitive to the cold than iguanas are. :)

I'll be going back to the pet store and get all the other things we need, but the only main things I think we're missing right now is UVB and proper nighttime heating. We live in Austin, Texas, and we don't use the air conditioner, so it might be a couple of degrees short of the optimum nighttime temperature, but it's not like he'll freeze to death until we get proper heating set up.

I guess I just have to go ahead and experiment some more, but thanks again for the tip. At least he ate _something_!
