First of all, bless you for rescuing those animals in need.
Secondly, there's not much you can do other than change the caging material. Is it wire he's rubbing? Try nylon mesh (heavy duty screen door stuff). In the meantime, put some Neosporin on his nose and watch for infection.
Iguanas get used to a routine and if you don't stick with that routine they will let you know. Can you just make it a habit to let him out the minute you come home?
I've sort of by-passed this whole issue by letting my ig free-roam. He did do some screen-rubbing initially, but has since stopped (I guess he figured out it was a barrier no matter which way he went).
