Your questions regarding enclosure size depend on what kind of spiney you have. If you describe him/her on the cteno forum the people there will probably id it for you.
I can say mine is the smallest type at only a few inches, and his cage barely contains him at 5 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet. But that's my guy, and he's not very common. The most usual one is c. similis.....and they get to 4 - 4 1/2 feet I think. Rest are around 3 feet (?). All I can tell you for sure is they need a bit of animal protein and can live a very long time.
