Thank you everyone! you don't know how much I appreciate this. He is in his cage now and although he hasn't tried to bite me, he has held his mouth open but not all the way and he has whipped me. I don't understand though, when he first came into the store he was perfectly fine, calm, nice and warm, not too warm or cold, and when i took him home he was the same. Why did he all of a sudden change? Is it because of his bath? Yesterday he was eating straight from my hand. His colors are still nice and bright. His basking spot is a sold 96 degrees F. Although he hasn't eatin anything today and I have not seen him poop not even in the warm water or at the store. I am letting him settle in for the rest of the night. I will be back tomorrow probably with more questions or with something new to say. Hehehe. Thank you again for all of your help. I honestly did do research over the years but this is something else i tell yea.
thanks again
Brittany
: ok ~ ya breathing now???

: 1st you *have* to realize that as scared as you are right now, this ig is close to insane with *his* fear and he doesn't know you are the good guy who wants to help him! he's not trying to be mean, he thinks he needs to defend himself and he doesn't know that there ARE good people! he's gone from an awful home to someplace that he has NO clue what's gonna happen and he is a zillion times more scared than you are ... OK?

: is he loose right now???
: if he *not* ... then just "tuck him in" for the night and don't worry about it right now ...

: if he *is* loose and you need to get him safely into his enclosure ... grab a nice thick bath towel, talk talk talk to him! slowly, softly, *calmly* ... just babble away and talk soothingly to him and inch your way closer ... if he is on the floor, you are gonna *have* to get down there too cuz if you're looming over him, it's gonna freak him out even more and you won't be able to get close enough to get the towel on him ... get on you knees and talk + inch closer to him ...

:

keep remembering ~ HE IS TERRIFIED!

part of you rescuing him is to help him get over his fear of humans ... even if you don't feel brave, ACT like you do! ACT CALM + confident and *talk* soothingly the entire time ...

: get the towel over his head ... the claws and tail are nothin' compared to his teeth ... get his head covered with the towel, hold him firmly around his middle and get him tucked into his enclosure for the night ...

: you can do it!!! *grin*
: we can help you tomorrow with tips on how to help him calm down and learn to trust you ok?

: best wishes!
: Bon.
