Hi Raven...sorry to hear your having problems! You don't mention if you have already read anything about attempting to dampen Zasis' enthusiasm. So, I'll leave you the direct route to an article complete with suggestions to try written by Melissa Kaplan. From there she has listed other areas to read for continued information re male behavior.
I know of people who have had success with method(s) described by her...and then there is Harry *grin* I think they've tried everything and he's not buying it!
Pay close attention to what you are wearing and see if you are accidentally setting him off. One lady had success during this seasonal thing by actually wearing a disguise. It's true! (Stop laughing!) She couldn't get near her male to feed, clean, etc. Then one day she put on a hat and sunglasses....and, ta-da, ig totally ig-nored her and she went about her business.
One other thing since your friend was bitten severely. If the dr. put him on antibiotics, please check with the pharmacy to see if the one he is taking is designed for GRAM NEGATIVE bacteria. This is VERY important. If not, then they won't work and 10 days later there's still going to be swelling & infection. You can refer your physician to the article on iguana/reptile bites.
Hope you find something that works! Sometimes it will be a combination of things.
