I currently own 3 Cyclura, 2 Rhinos and 1 Cayman/Lewisi cross. The female Rhino is the oldest, being almost 2 years old. She is about 30 inches long and very heavy bodied. Bubbles is a freeroamer and I think that's one thing that keeps her calm and very tame. She even gets along with my green igs, living peacefully with them, which I was told would never happen. The cross, on the other hand, is a handfull still. He will protest wildly when I take him out of his enclosure but calms pretty quickly once he's out for a while. Time and patience is what it is going to take. I would start by daily bathing your Rhino and then just sitting on the bathroom floor while he wanders. Let him get used to your presence. After a while offer treats by hand. Spend as much quiet time as you can with him, just talking softly. I'm a firm believer in letting these animals have some space. I'm taking my own advice with my newest addition, the male Rhino. He's a late '99 hatchling and was raised outdoors before I purchased him in August. He's still in flight mode, scared to death, but we're working on it. Best of luck, and when you get that lizard tamed down you will find out just how amazing these igs are. Hope this helps!!
