I got mine at a hardware store....no, no, not the iguanas but gloves *grin* I call them welder gloves. Mine are burnt orange in color made of heavy leather & come up almost to my elbows cos' I'm short. I use them to keep from getting clawed to death when attempting to get our igs to STAY in the wading pool outside for a least a few minutes. (Don't even try to get them in a bathtub unless you like taking your life into your own hands.) Getting the gloves wet hasn't ruined them yet. I also use them if I have to "mess" with Lightning (female) and she's in a rotten mood. So far, she's never been able to bite thru these gloves and she's tried *grin*

If all else fails for you in this reading material I'm about to suggest, then I'd suggest getting these gloves. This way you won't have to back off when she's nipping. With L she stops trying after a couple of bites to the glove. A drawback to these gloves were that when they were brand new they did emit a powerful aroma (cow???)and both igs hated it and wouldn't get comfortable around us if the gloves were on OR nearby due to the smell. So if you have to go this route, you might want to air them out for a while. (Hindsight is always 20/20 you know! LOL)

I'm leaving the website of an ig forum friend named Joan. I've seen others praise her taming section so I thought I'd post that up first. You will find yourself at the "front door" of the iguana section.....and seeing the prettiest boy iguana of whom I just so happen to be God-ig-mother *sloppy grin* Click on the taming section. It's broken down in to steps and from what you've said you are well on your way..just have to get a bit more cooperation from MzLizzy!

I also know that M Kaplan has a section on the subject too but I wasn't sure if you'd already read that one.

I KNOW that you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned Lizzy having the upper hand. You're ig-whipped lady *grin* Don't feel bad as it happens to all of us whether it's because it's a new iguana or because they've decided to be moody.
