Salvador knew (as Sleestack knows now) where all the doors are and where they lead-- knew their way back to their cages and the layout of the apartment/house. Salvador also knew colors well and knew where the refrigerator was and that it was a magic box where yummies were! He would also come over to me when he was hungry or wanted something and put one claw on me, looking up right into my eye-- there was some kinda psychic communication attempt I'm sure!!!!!! LOL They learn their routines and train you not to deviate or they will pay you back with fingerpainting the area with feces! They recognize people-- the good guys and the ones they hate! And they cling to you at the vet like a scared child. I wouldn't know how to compare them to a mammal like a cat or dog, but just because they are not all groveling and needylike doesn't mean their not intelligent does it? After all, manipulation is a sign of intelligence and my igs have that down pat!!!!!!!!!!!
