Hello, J.N.
I use to have a small potted hibiscus in Ziggi's 55G when he stayed there. He nibbled on it and so forth, I just made sure he didn't eat any of the potting soil, I put a towel around it, worked ok, never
saw him trying to dig in it, I would say go for it.
Kitchen or living room should be fine, if he asks stressed because there is too much traffic, then cover part of the cage with a towel or something so he/she can't see ya.
Hope this helps.

: Does anyone use potted Hibiscus in their enclosures? I bought some scraggly looking perrenial Hibiscus on clearance at Lowe's for $2 tonight and repotted them in a larger pot. I was told at Lowe's that the plants were not chemically treated because they are not allowed to treat any of their plants. I was thinking of putting it in Baby's new cage, but wanted to ask first if that's safe. If not, I'll just consider it another houseplant and occasionally give him some of the leaves. Thanks. J
: PS....The enclosure is nearly done, but will not be in my son's room or mine. My hubby got a little carried away and it's one inch too big! We can get it down the hallway, but that's about it. LOL So..I guess we have a new piece of furniture in our living room or kitchen, depending on where we decide to put it. Do you think the living room is to stressfull an area? Does anyone else have their cage in the living room or kitchen? Thanks again in advance.
