As a herper that has made many visits to the vets office, our bills over the last 10 years run into 5 figures. Whereas we respect our vets, she or he should listen to us, (they do), we have learned a great deal over the course of the years. Our Internet friends provide us with info that we are challenged with. Does our very competent vet know about the D-3 suppliment conflict or not? Gee, she has a family, a vet practice and a life of her own. No, we should not not give vet grade advice thru this forum, but we can give very good questions to ask your vet.
Not all ARAV vets are created equal!
Unless you have Mader or Frye for a vet, questions are good! (Even if they are the former!) Question them!
Research and read! If you do not feel that a vet is on the right track, challege him/her.
Look, the first vet we took Gwar to, mistook her snalting for a upper respitory infection and wanted us to do injections of Baytril every other day, (office visits!)
LOL!
My whole point is, vets are not the know all, treat all peeps that they would like to be or we would like them to be. (As much as we would like it to be different, it is not!)
So, when peeps give informed opinions as far as herp care go, I listen and sift them thru the body of knowledge that I have and go from there.
Dan
