My first bun I didn't know any better...It's amazing how much care a happy house bunny takes, too. :) my second rabbit I bought b/c I couldnt' find one around here needing a home and the House Rabbit Society contact wouldn't let me adopt since I was living in a college dorm and pets were illegal. I really didn't want to buy another rabbit from a pet store, but I couldn't stand seeing that empty cage after my first rabbit died...
What's really important now is that you were willing to read on ig care and do what is right for him. :) You'd be amazed how many people believe whoever tells them igs can survive on lettuce, water, and a 20 gal aquarium "it'll stunt their growth" Sad...

: I am happy to report Squiggs by far was one of the lucky ones. At first, I knew NOTHING about igs. I just wanted one of those neat lizards in the aquarium...so my b/f won me one. I didn't know how big they actually got or what they ate...or especially how EXPENSIVE they are to care for..but after MUCH research Squiggs is doing GREAT!! Unfortunately , I bet most of the others won that night are not! When I got Squiggs the fair guy handed her to be in a brown lunch size paper bag and said "Here you go, just stick it in a fish tank and feed it some lettuce!"

: : Hey Lexi,
: : Do you think your group can help with these free iguana giveaways at fairs in Ohio, NY and Iowa?
: : And Atlantic City is still selling iguanas on the Boardwalk to unsuspecting tourists for $6.99. NIAD is limited due to wanting to be a 501C3.
: : I think that all states need to get a law passed preventing free live giveaways.
