Saw this post on a "surf" about Amphojel. It's absolutely the best medication I can find to deal with occasional serious bouts of reflux, and I have been told that it's not longer available. I've tried many other products and none have the same effectiveness. I'm very interested in finding out if I can obtain any more of this product anywhere. One lead I had was in South Africa, but I'm not getting a response to my inquiry. Any suggestions or assistance out there???

: : aluminium hydroxide reduces the phosphorus levels ... (if i'm remembering correctly it reduces the stress on kidneys by binding the phos. in the gut and allowing it to pass right on thru ....?) ... iZ's level was quite high (9.6 mg/dl ~ lab norms are 5-8 mg/dl) ~ (his calcium:phos. ratio was 1:1.3)

: : interestingly, we also use Amphojel for the same reason (renal impairment) for the kids in ICU ...

: Used also for kitties with renal failure for the same reason to bind the phosphorus. :)
