I soaked him in warm water for 20 minutes, then slathered KY all over his vent and the part of the plug I could see. I put him high up on a towel rack, and lifted his tail at almost a 90 degree angle which makes it come out a bit further. Then I used a paper towel to grab one end and gently work it out (side to side motion) and pulled!!!!!!!!! He didn't like it one bit but I got it (much cheaper than another trip to the vet too!-- I know I loosened it for that last vet anyway since I had been trying for awhile)
