there are certain types of wood that are toxic. i think cedar is one...someone else knows way more about this than i do, though. i know my branches are cottonwood. we had a tornado go thru a small country town last year, and they have an area of trees still not cleaned up. i go there for my branches. its right off the interstate, so there is a lot of rubbernecking going on trying to figure out what the crazy lady is doing in the middle of that mess! i usually highstep slowly everywhere i walk, the idea of a snake out there.......so you can just picture how stupid i look!!

: I noticed that in a lot of everyones cages they
: have "stumps" and branches. Where does everyone
: get such large branches? I have never seen them
: sold at the pet stores that large. Would I have
: to get one cut from a tree? Also does it matter
: what kind of wood is used?
