i tried doin' iZ's while he was sleepin' *once* ... he's obviously *not* as sound a sleeper as some igs! let's just say it didn't work well at all for this household!

the key to doin' iZ's daggers, i mean, claws ... is lots + lots of patience ... often, the goal is just to get one hand or foot done per nite, depends on iZ's mood + how much patience *he* has for *me*!

iZ has also learned that if he gets the blue towel wrapped around him, humommy means business and so he might as well cooperate + be done with it! now, even if the towel is just draped over him, he realizes he should sit still for a minute ...

'playing with' his toes at times when you *don't* need to trim the nails helps alot to get the point across that nothing bad is gonna happen when humommy touches your toesies! (this also comes in handy at shedding time too!) ...

what worked good for iZ when he was smaller, was to just use an emory board and file the sharp little points off ...
