It may be a 2 man job or maybe not, depending on your igs psersonality, but if you are nervous about doing it, then I would recommend someone holding him for you snug against their body supporting him correctly, and even in a towel if necessary. Then you do the snipping. If I am not sure about judging where the vein is sometimes, then I actually will press a little tiny bit with the snipper just to see if he pulls his nail back-then I know it would be too far down to snip. Antoher suggestion would be to bring him to a pet store and let them teach you hands on, I believe that is how I learned.
