That is the same process I used, as iZ's mom described also, to get off Spunky's other stubborn spikes (he's not a good shedder), but these last few are extra difficult. I will keep trying tho. I am starting the same process with Darwin's spikes. I'm not sure of her history, but she looks like she has had very difficult sheds also. I got off 2 of them tonight :-)
I've also started the Vitamin E on both of them, and Coolio tonight. I've had the bad habit of "peeling" them since I've had them, 'bout 3 years. But to help keep myself from getting overzealous, I compete with myself on the spikes, to see what is the longest "row" I can pick off, so yes I have some experience with it.
