Since they are only a few months old, I wouldn't worry about them not being completely tame yet. It takes time (sometimes a lot of time). And if they are that young, it's nearly impossible to tell their sex, too. The fact that the big one thrashes around when you pick him up is probably a good sign..if he were sick, he couldn't fight you with that much enthusiasm. :)
And it's doubtful one could drown the other, unless one is a whole lot bigger than the other. And igs can hold their breaths for a pretty long time (I think I read up to half an hour, but I'm not sure about that).

p.s. Are you moving them to separate rooms? Just being in the same room can be stressful if they can still see each other...
: Thanks Katherine. They will be seperated for good in about another week. I was just worried that the little one,who I think is a gal, was sick or something. I hope it's not stressed! It seems to me that Franky is the one who is stressed. He is such a spaz when I try to pick him up. (I think he is a he, since his dorsal spikes are larger and his pores underneath his hind legs are larger and more pronounced than the other ig.) I am afraid that he will continue to be this way and one day become too big to handle. I have read somewhere to put some clothes in the cage. Since Franky is "really" my 10 yr. old son's pet I had him rub a clean sock on him and put it on Franky's basking log. I hope this works!
: Is is ok that they dunk each other while swimming in the tub? I don't want the little guys to drown each other.
