Thanks for the advice, where would I find a nice cage to use all the time, besides having to build one? I'm trying to avoid having to buy different cage sizes as my ig gets bigger. I'm not a very Handy person myself, so I would rather not build one, but if you know of a link that has a diagram to build one I am welcome to anything! Right now my ig is in a 55 g aquarium, which is plenty big enough right now, but I want him to be able to go up high, so he doesnt feel threatened. Thanks!
: We purchased the 38 model at the Florida show and use it only with our Collareds and BD. I (my opinion) wouldn't suggest having this as a main cage. It's a nice transport cage or outside cage for smaller reptiles but for a main cage, I don't believe it would hold up well. If I'm not mistaken, entry into these unit is by way of a zipper. If you have to unzip and zip up your cage let's say......6 times a day, chances are the nylon zipper will wear out sooner or later. Ours is a zipper model and that's the first thing I thought about when we got it. Next.....they don't come apart that easy for transporting unless you modify the connections some. Right now, we leave ours completely assemblied because of that. I had a heck of a time fitting the connections together when assembling it and I would say I'm some what of a handyman..oops I mean Handy PERSON...to be P.C.. LOL
: Also, I haven't tried nor will I, to put a ceramic heater element on top of this cage.....heck I don't even put the spot lights on it, for fear of melting the nylon mesh. And yes, nylon WILL melt. Did you notice in that photo, the spot lights were mounted inside the cage??? Who knows what those other fixtures have for bulbs, they could be 40 watt standard bulbs.
