: Hi, My Ig, Albert, was fine until ~ 2 wks ago when I noticed within a day or so swelling that almost looked as if his very thick tail had become visible( via lumps side to side on his lower back)
: I've been feeding him a salad of lucchini,yellow squash, carrots(to a lesser degree) , turnip greens,kale, mustard greens, occassional diced apple pieces, grape or 2 diced up. and one of the 2 salads /day I sprinkle repcal d3/calcium & ground up centrum
: multivitamins on top & stir it in. He eats it all so i know he gets the supplements. He has all flourecent UVA&B lights ceramic heater bulbs above his enclosure, most days several hrs actual uninhibited sunlight, and temps from 80-85 at night to 90-100 during the day. He has no pain, but it showed up suddenly. it's not painful to the touch(from his reactions) and he's still quite an acrobat. He is currently 32"STL and had grown7 inches since I got him 5 months ago via petstore ADOPTION.
: Please post or email me with suggestions, and I'm still qualifying vets, so far not alot of luck. I'm not stopping till this guy has a clean bill of health or well on his road to recovery. Thanks!
++++++UPDATE 9/28/98++++++++++++++++++++++++
I took it to the vets today. The vet was impressed at the condition of "her" barring the bump on her back. The vet checked her out and said absolutely no MBD here, the bump is hard and around a joint in her back/tail, she thinks the result of a fall the ig took. My ig does get a bit rowdy at times in her outdoor enclosure, and a few times has jumped from her top perch to the floor(~5'). So thanks to all concerned. The worst news was that she has hook worms, and I've already given her one of 2 doses of wormer from the vet for that. See You!
P.S. Still looking for someone to adopt my 4 month old ig. My big girl doesn't like sharing either enclosure with the little one, and it's a picture of health, If you live in South Eastern PA and are interested, please email me at rsricci@voicenet.com. I'll be willing to meet anyone half way, you'll be pleased with this impressive little one. Very healthy and lively ,now ~ 16-18" STL
