phil's been eating less

: for some reason, Phil has been eating les lately. he still eats, but he doesn't clean his plate like he used to. Could it be because of the seasons changing. He can't be bored with his food, i change the ingrediants often enough. he had a heating rock ( i know they're bad)covered with a plastic container with holes in it, so that he didn't get the intense heat that could burn him, but still got a warm place to lie, besides his basking place. i recently moved that out of his cage. does he need it? he gets lots of heat from his basking spot, but does he need the under belly heat too? : I can't think of any other reasons why he wouldn't be eating.any info welcome
