All heating elements should either be outside the cage or placed behind wire so the iguana cannot touch it. Yes, it could be a burn...could be a lot of things. Is it getting bigger? Does it look inflamed? I recommend a visit to a good herp vet since your friend is not sure what it is.

: A friend of mine has a baby iguana that is getting a dark spot on its head,she is using a regular light bulb for a basking light. Is it burning it? what do you think?
