I ‘spose by now, the "survey" regarding anecdotes and why we keep igs is over, the time so quickly slips away! As was to be expected, so many things were mentioned and elaborated on as to why we love these wonderful creatures - which is really good, because when I first thought to write, I didn't know where to begin and without a doubt, wouldn't have known where to end the "book."
But just in case, I would like to add something that is very important to me and never ceases to amaze me (and will try to keep in a brief form). When I first started researching iguana care, I was inevitably led to the many sites regarding the consequences of lack of appropriate care, and I'd never felt so broken-hearted in my life, about *anything.*
I have always been what I consider a compassionate person, but the "research" I was doing brought it out more and more, and made me realize that I was even *much* more compassionate than I thought. From those early days, the compassion has never left me and I feel it still continues to grow, which also leads to so many of good feelings in "general." My *passion* for these beautiful creatures also continues to grow all the time - even tho at times I feel ready to burst, I amazing find there is still more to be had.
It's very difficult to explain and especially to keep it brief, but I suspect that those others who experience/d this know what I mean. To me, it means they have given me so much and taught me so many things, especially about the "simple things" in life that I otherwise would not likely have discovered, and I wish I could return a fraction of that to them.
