Our iguana took many months to not be utterly terrified of us! It is a slow process. I would look at the two links below-- MK's probably has some taming info and Jen Swofford's has a great diet. Both are essential sites if you haven't seen them (book mark 'em!!!!). Anyway, things that have worked for me are talking calmly and hand feeding (treats too), consistant interaction for short periods. Others have reccommended not putting them away when they are acting up, but only when they calm down so they know that behavior is not rewarded. And, putting a t-shirt with your scent in their cage gets them accustomed to you. All in all, just time, interaction and being nice to them will eventually win them over.
