Hello,
first off, I want to say thank you for asking about the iguana first before you bought one.
A well cared for, tame, happy iguana is a good pet. They have a character and attitude that only that iguana has. Much like humans but they don't talk back.
They have many needs, including a very large cage as they grow. They also have a very detailed diet and environment needs. Nothing that you have to memorize or anything. It becomes second nature when you have an iguana.
Your cage, lights, food, vitamins, cage logs, and hides can add up. The cage is the most important part, and the most expensive. But a well thought out cage is better then lots of little cheap ones that your iguana will outgrow in time.
When you buy an iguana you want to have read as much literature on them as possible.
What i suggest is that you look at this forum, scroll down, look at post, read them through, look at information sites, I'll send you some with the best reading. It's easier if you print out the pages and read them at your leisure time so that your not stressed and you learn more from them.
Do this and ask questions, you can also look in the archives for different things. Good luck and as lots of questions.
Christy
