If I ever decided to buy an ig, I would want him to be captive bred (in the US). But I agree with everyone here...not just anyone needs to throw two igs together to produce more igs. I know at least around here, it is *extremely* difficult to find a responsible ig owner. I see an average of one a month that has **severe** metabolic bone disease. And what's really sad is the owners didn't realize anything is wrong until the igs are basically completely paralyzed...one person said "I think my kid stepped on it." It was a textbook case of MBD...swollen, soft jaw bones, swollen legs, etc...It's like dogs and puppy mills....with so many homeless ones out there, why breed?
