Read the pages linked to below of the type of diet you should be feeding. It is going to take some time to transition since your ig is used to this poor sweet diet. I would reccommend putting some small shredded pears and other BETTER fruit like blueberries, melon, papaya and mixing in in really well with collard greens, mustard greens, dandelion etc. (see food lists on linked pages). You might need to use more fruit in the beginning to trick him into eating the appropriate food. Once he gets used to the proper diet, he should begin eating it with gusto! I would remove pear almost completely once that happens as it is not a great food nutrionally.
ALSO-- look at these pages for proper care-- like UVB light/natural unfiltered sunlight, warm temps, calcium, appropriate cage size etc.
