I have started a reptile rescue. Currently, I have 2 igs and 2 red-eared sliders up for adoption. My problem is the smaller ig has busted eardrums. They are ALMOST COMPLETELY open. My vet says there is nothing to be done and it will either heal on its own or not. Has anyone had experience w/this type of problem? I have been keeping antibacterial ointment on the ears to prevent infection and limiting soaking time to prevent water in the earcanals. Any advice (other than to euthanize) would be helpful.
