I thought that I'd add my bit to the snowball effect :^). I live in Rochester, New York. That's about an hour from Buffalo, near Lake Ontario. I'm married- just celebrated 12 years on the 13th!! I also have an 11 year old son, Aaron- just celebrated his b.day on the 24th. He's a great kid!! Our family also has...

1- a cat named Alex(male neutered, of course)that we adopted from an animal shelter

2- a dog named Tucker(again, male neutered) that we adopted from a girl that was heading off to boot camp and couldn't keep him. He was about 1 1/2 and a crazy man because his owner hadn't been around much to spend time with him. He has since calmed down-THANK GOD!! He is part husky and part golden retriever. His hair length is ALL golden and his color is ALL husky. His eyes are almost white! VERY cool!!

3- 5 fish(no spaying or neutering there :^) )

4- a guide dog that we are raising named Nordica- photo available at http://home.eznet.net/~rodgers/
Nordica is a yellow lab that we've had since he was 8 or 9wks. old and is now 15 months. We will probably be giving him up in February for his formal training:( We are only responsible to teach him good manners. He is owned by Guiding Eyes for the Blind, a completely non profit organization that provides guide dogs to visually impaired people.

5- some kind of lizard, to be named at a future date.

If you have been on the forum for a while, you know that I am doing research in order to determine if this is an option for us and what species would be best suited to us. The focus seems to be shifting to bearded dragons at this point.

I have truly enjoyed this forum and have been able to learn sooooo much from all of you! Thanks a million! I'm sure that the lizard we end up with would want to thank you also :)
