Taming can take a long time, don't give up. Hand feed it some favorite foods, talk to it calmly not making sudden movements, make sure it is not stressed out by other pets or high traffic areas. Don't reach from above if you can help it-- they think you are a predator. Give it warm baths. Put a shirt with your scent in it's cage so it associates that smell with safety. Don't put it away when it freaks out-- hold it calmly and firmly until it calms down-- put it in the cage only after it is calm.
