If the break is clean, no jagged points, etc, it can be taped to the tail (or to the body if it's a front leg). If the bone twisted when it broke, or fragmented, a pin inside the bone is usually used (no other support generally needed). Basically, if it's not a bad break, surgical tape would probably be enough to support a small ig's leg.

: i was under the impression that when an ig breaks a leg, the leg needs to be immobilized (ie: wrapped against the tail) in order for the bone to heal ... is this not necessarily true????

: just wondering ... (don't get any funny ideas about flyin' iZ!)
