: Well, Stevie asked me this morning if I can put him out of his pain and I heard him loud and clear. Don't know what it was, but I woke up this morning with the confidence to "help" him and let him stop suffering as he seemed to be worse. I am confident in my decision...the pain is getting easier, especially since I had time to prepare and started my grieving like a week ago. I didn't bring him to the vet, my hubby did the bold trip, I couldn't handle that part. But I thank you for your support through this difficult time, and I plan to stick around since you guys seem like such a cool group.
: So, since I'll be staying awhile I figured I should let you know who I am! lol. I am now sadly just an ig mommy to Quazi who is 9 yrs old. I guess you can say Stevie and Quazi were "rescues" back in the day. Stevie was blind and handfed everyday of his life for the 9 yrs I had him (he was 10), and quazi showed up at the pet store that I got hin from with very bad MBD, and never "grew up"....he is very small...I'd say about 2 ft- tops!! His back is crunched up from the disease, which has since corrected itself after my hard work. He has a V-back...thus the name Quazi Moto! Odd thing was that this past week while Stevie was sick, Quazi's color turned very very dark, almost black...and within an hour of us removing Stevie from the cage to go to the vet, Quazi's color went back to normal bright green. Anyway, my 2 "Jerry's Kids" have been the longest living over my "healthy" ones I've purchased. Like I said, Quazi is now 9, and Stevie was 10....the others haven't made it past 4....so these guys are strong, and Stevie sure was a fighter til the end! Anyway...this is long enough...it's nice to have a group that understands...as it seems everyone around here has a turned up nose and rude comments when they see them and sometimes it really gets to me, especially at times like this.
