Lisa,
What has the vet told *YOU*
prognosis, any hope? any thing?
Talk to your vet!!
If your vet feels that the best thing for Stevie is to end his suffering then it may be your only option, however painful it is for *YOU*
I had a dog for 15 years that I had to euthanize (cancer). It was one of the hardest decisions in my life but also one of the easiest..easier than helplessly watch him suffer, vomitting and passing blood... he was in agony, he would look at me with these sad, sick eyes like "ut oh Im in trouble now...I pooped in the house" I selfishly hung on to him for 5 days before I let him go! I wasn't ready to believe the vet that it was hopeless, that he was dying, that he was suffering, "If he's gonna die he'll die at home" was my thinking. Unfortunately there were no pain killers for people forced to watch their pet suffer needlessly, a lesson learned believe me.
I cried for hours after he was euthanized, how I drove home I do not know...no one understood...it was just a dog for pete's sake! He remains in my heart and mind now..gone but definately not forgotten.
Stevie's telling you something....please hear *him*
