I've had Baby for a year and one week now and he still requires some extra stroking and a soothing voice before he calms down enough to ride on my shoulder or let me pet him normally. It can depend on his mood too. Lately he's been hissing at me when I pick him up but then melts when I start to massage his joints and rub his back. He lets me pick him up though, so I know I'm making progress. He used to dart around the cage and whip at me before I could handle him. It's only from constant daily attention. I try to handle him around the same time every day. Lately it's been twice a day. Mid-morning and Early evening for 15 to 20 minute sessions and I always let him roam after one of these sessions. If you let your baby roam though, make sure it's in a place you can keep good track of him. They can squeeze into the darndest places at that age!!! Anyway, good luck and enjoy your new friend. J
