You can also use turnip greens and danlelion greens. Sneakers gets a variety of a lot of different foods. Once in a while when I cook pasta or rice I put a little aside to sprinkle on his salad. This is before adding butter, seasoning, sauces, or gravys. Occasionly he will get some grains, oatmeal, cream of wheat, or wheat bread. Again the plain variety with nothing added. There are some flowers you can feed to your ig...dandelions and their leaves, rose petals (no leaves), and hibiscus and their leaves. Be sure no chemicals have been used on the plants including fertilizer. If we are having califlower or broccoli, I will pull a little aside after steaming and save for Sneakers next meal. That last one is about once a month.

Some fruits are better than others. Rasberries, cantelope, oranges, mangoes, and figs are good as well as a host of others. We also feed strawberries, apples, bananas, apricots, pineapple, and watermelon. Whatever we have bought to eat. Not very much. Fruits are only a small portion of their diet. Some fruits and veggies are kept around all the time for Sneakers and some he only gets a bite of if we're eating it, like watermelon.

The things that Sneakers is never fed...dairy products, animal protien, corn, potatoes, cabbage, sweets, seasonings, and sauces. You'll notice I didn't put lettuce on my never list. In Sneakers year and a half with me he has had a couple bites of lettuce maybe 3 times. He loves it. Lettuce has no nutrientional value, but it does contain water. Sneakers thinks its ig candy and gets a few bites, after he finishes his regular healthy meal on special occasions. He just got a little lettuce for his second birthday.

Basically if I buy something for the family and it has some nutrientional value, Sneakers at least gets a bite or two.
