Heat rocks are bad in every way and sense.
They eventually burn-out.
They can burn surrounding matterial/surrounding (few houses gone because of them).
They can cause horrifying injuries to igs.
They can burn a cloth or the like that covers it.
They thermo-stats hardly work well in the long run.
Save the money into something better and safer for you and your animal.

Good to know you asked first, since too many people act first, then come up with the questions.
