I agree with everyone else that it will probably be best for you and the ig if you take him to a good herp vet to have the lump checked out. But I think you may want to check something else. Try to get the iguana to open his mouth, and look at the inside closely (a penlight is WAY helpful). Look for "gunk" in his mouth, stuff that is sort of yellowy or off white, usually stringy or with the look and consistency of cottage cheese. It's called mouth rot, and it's not uncommon in iguanas. I just thought of it because I remembered some post, a gal had an ig with a lump on it's cheeck that turned out to be neither an abcess or MBD...it was simply a small pouch filled with the pus-like stuff that is mouth-rot. I'd check for that. He'll need to be treated bya vet for that, too, if indeed that's what it is. But a course of anti-biotics will usually clear it up quickly. Let us know! BTW, do you have a pic of the lump in question?
