Refer to Melissa Kaplans website and look under behavior articles....check out Green Iguana Society website too. Their listed below. I haven't read too much on the subject except what to expect during breeding season. Males get aggresive then. I know you do need to show who's in charge. Melissa had an article that I read about this. A woman bought an aggressive Ig and needed to tame it. She was told to stand in a certain way to make herself look larger (feet spread apart, hands on hips, leaning forward , and speak loudly... bad boy etc. Some people hiss at thier Iguanas to show who's boss. There will be more on the subject, just read more. Even though my Iguanas are sweet...I've had quite a battle and still do occasionally, getting relaxed around them. They since this too. If I have a positive attitude they respond better. But don't forget they are wild animals and can leave a serious bite. Igs usually let you know when they are getting ready to do something. They will stand low, tilt head, eyes look beady. They may hiss at you as well. Mine will push my hand away and hiss if they've had enough...happens when I groom them sometimes. I leave them alone at that point and just pet them. Enjoy the articles...you'll find several I'm sure. http://www.sonic.net/~melissk/ig_care.html
