If you haven't already, you might try calling the local SPCA, or whatever organization gets the strays in your area. If they don't have Fatty, ask them to take your name and number in case she does somehow show up.

And don't worry 'bout the neighbors, there are worse things you can do than to stare in grief over your lost loved one :-)
