First of all... take the spray bottle of water and mist him with warm water. Paying close attention to his nose...wet the area with your fingers and see if it is strawberries. Hopefully it is and will come off. Use a q-tip if you have to. If it's blood...take some triple antibiotic ointment and dabb it on. Good enough while you figure out the rest of the problem. Get the light in a place where he can't touch it. It sounds like you may have a design problem. The lights need to be in a spot outside shining in or anchored to the center top on the inside....with no access to it directly. Keep the light about 9 inches (I believe is correct) away so they don't over heat. I tried to look up the exact distance for you but couldn't find it right away. They need to NOT be able to touch the light ...this prevents accidents. They have been known to get right up in the lights and burn themselves so make sure they can't reach any light and you'll be ok. Look up a couple web sites in the mean time....one of which is "Melissa kaplans " the other "Green Iguana Society" which is under construction I believe. Here's the sites below....you'll get more helpful hints from others in a while. Good Luck.......Marsha http://www.greenigsociety.org/quicktips.htm
