it gets alittle more complicated than just black and white. You would have to consider seasonal changes in Males. At that time, Males are not too friendly and can be dangerous to have free roaming. If it's a female, she may or may not want to be around humans when she's developing eggs. I (my own opinion) believe it's a toss of the dice, so to speak, if you have an iguana that will be tame v.s. wild. Some can be as sweet as can be, while others will never be tame, regardless of how often you handle them or let them free roam.
And this subject is something every future owner should consider BEFORE getting an iguana, because is should be a commitment for life, not just for as long as someone wants the iguana.
I have an iguana right now, who's not a bundle of joy to be around 24/7 but I will continue to care for him the rest of his life, regardless of his evil ways.
