Our pIGnic made the Richmond paper! The article is listed below. Unfortunately, after the reporter and photographer left, most of the lizards cooled off in the swimming pool. Samcin's Felix was a natural!!! She'd put him in the swallow end and he would swim the length of pool ever so gracefully. Harry even swam and plopped up on the cement and soaked up some sun. LOL Yes, Horrible Harry hung out and behaved himself.

The owners of the house put one of their female iguanas in and she immediately swam to the bottom of pool where she stayed and scared the poop out of all us. When they say iguanas can stay under for 20 minutes, believe me, they can! The big male they have (20 pounder) was too funny. Not real graceful and he even did a deadman's float much to our horror! I'm not sure what was more funny, the ungraceful lizard or Wayne who was in the pool with him wearing a hooded sweatshirt, hightop tennis shoes, and welding gloves? This male made Harry seem tame. Everyone at the picnic is now plottings ways in which to have pools installed in their back yards (me included). ;o)

If any of you ever the opportunity to attend an iguana picnic, I would urge you all to do so. They are a lot of fun (with or without a pool). Great people, great lizards, great food, just a great time by all.
