First let me congratulate you on caring enough about your herps to read on the subject, not enough owners do. However, as BabyHerp states, quite a few of us own extensive literature on herps, belong to multiple mailing lists, and have been doing research on herps for many years. Sue and I have been owned by lizards for over ten years and we are still learning about these fascinating creatures, (and will for many years to come!)
Feel free to join in our little community, but, realize that most of the folks here are trying to give their igs the best care possible and if mistakes happen, (and they will!), the peeps involved would have tried to avoid them. Give your viewpoint, but cut some slack! If you have never blundered in the care and husbandry of one of your herps, you will! S**t happens and despite all our efforts to avoid problems, they still occur and will to you as well.
Keep reading, keep researching, talk to every herp owner you can, and bear in mind, (Especially on this forum!), that most peeps want to do what is best for their herps. Flame at your own risk!
