: When I feed my igs fruit, I feed by hand in nice little bite-size chunks and make sure each goes down before feeding another. Or so I thought until the other night when I was feeding Spunks some honey dew. When I got to the last piece, I had a fleeting thought it might be too big, which should have been enough to tell me to break it in half. But no-o-o-o-o-o! I let him eat it and needless to say, his throat puffed up and his eyes rolled back in his head...talk about panic! (not to mention tons o' guilt)
: I picked him up, pulled on his dewlap and turned him towards the floor, where several chunks of honey dew landed, spewed from his mouth. I was petting him and telling him how sorry I was when his throat puffed up again, and I pulled on his dewlap again, to see more chunks of honey dew in his throat, then went through the routine for him to spew them out again.
: After the whole petting/apology thing again, I went to clean up the mess (yuk!) All tolled, there were 23 chunks of honey dew! I've never seen such a thing. Has anyone else?
hi they tell you in books and videos not to feed chunks of food after feeding him 1-2 chunks of food didnt you see he was having a problem you should feel guilty!!!!! mike
