: What would the best way to tame a babby Iguana? Sometimes he will whip me with his tail, I am worried that he will brake it. He will run even when I have food, like a bananas.

hi you have to handle them everyday play with the tail get him use to you touching it alot . they all do the same thing iguanas are very nervous they take alot of handling and along time to get use to you my male is 4 and1/2 feet long 3 years old and he still gets nervous at times they have good and bad days. mine is still not 100 percent tame and probably never will be and ive handled him since he was a baby everyday. ican hold him and let him loose in my house to walk around. i use to let him sit on my shoulder alot and walk around with him buy ever since he got older and reached sexual maturity he no longer goes near my face or sits on my shoulder any more . theres a good book called the green iguana ultimate owners manual best book on iguanas has everthing in it about iguana and there owners you should buy it i got mine from www.herpsupplies.com mike
