According to Melissa Kaplan's extensive list of harmful plants it isn't. It doesn't have a great cal/phos ratio, somewhere close to green pepper I think. I haven't seen any other reference of it being toxic to igs(or other animals either) except on Jen's page.

I do know that eggplant foliage (as well as tomato foliage) should not be fed to iguanas because that is indeed poisonous.
