: I have a chi too!! and a dox. I just make sure the dogs don't have physical access to my igs (who are adults) but my igs see my dogs everyday! This is their enviroment....what I would do is get rid of the hidebox....the sooner your ig acclimates himself to his enviroment the better...everyone makes such a fuss about iguanas "seeing" other animals like birds, dogs supposedly stresses em out (don't like preying on fears of others myself) My iguanas love to sit and watch the dogs run around, lick their butts, scratch their fleas lolol from the comfort of their secure enclosures. Iguanas are a lot more adaptable to their enviroment than we give em credit for. If you remove the hidebox expect him to be restless for a time...while he checks out and gets used to his new world and the creatures that inhabit it. Just the act of removing the hidebox and the change in his cage will be enough to freak em out; stress, become restless. Ivy will soon get bored of trying to get at the giant rat and wondering "how come I can't run around like that rat can!" and then enjoy watching it for hours on end. Never let em see you sweat ;-)
