: is that one of ours when we got her, was being fed canned food and as soon as we got her home, we put her in the tub. The poop was almost as hard as a rock! (Just one of the reasons I don't like CAN food)
: Covering the enclosure is a great idea. Also if it works (the cover) after a few days you should put a radio by the cage and turn on some soft music for the iguana to listen to, make sure the radio station has human voices on it once in awhile. This will help your iguana get use to hearing a voice around while she's eating.
: The condition of the sides of the iguana are important, but the most important area to be watching, is the base of the tail. If the base starts sinking in on either side, then things are really getting bad. This is a sign that your iguana is using up it's storage of fat in it's tail.
: What kind of bedding did the previous owner use? (if you might know) There have been owners who used bark, gravel, sand, etc.. as a bedding, if this is the case, you might need to have an x-ray done to see if there's blockage. I would recommend an x-ray and fecal test, if the base of the tail is sinking in, reason being, the iguana's time is limited at this point and it's vital to get some answers fast!
: Keep us posted.
